Covenant Reformed Church in Carbondale, Pennsylvania


For over 40 years, Covenant Reformed Church (URCNA) in Carbondale has been a beacon of Reformed faith in a community that is predominantly Roman Catholic. To continue serving its congregation and the broader Carbondale community, the church is embarking on a significant renovation of its historic building, constructed in the early 1900s, as well as the transformation of the neighboring property into a ministry center.

Covenant House Ministry Center

Covenant Reformed Church recently acquired the house next to the church, which will be transformed into "Covenant House," a ministry center designed to meet the needs of both the congregation and the community.

  • Clothes closet and food pantry
  • Rooms for Bible studies and recovery groups
  • Housing for missionaries and visiting pastors
  • Additional parking for services and activities

Renovation Costs & Needs

  • Roofing: $10,000
  • Siding and windows: $12,000
  • Carpet squares: $3,500
  • Ceiling tiles: $1,000
  • Interior paint: $3,500
  • Materials for drywall, trim, countertops: $5,000
  • Dumpsters and equipment: $4,000
